Nell’aeroporto di Taranto Grottaglie nascerà un Polo logistico integrato di sviluppo del trasporto merci per via aerea. Obiettivo: soddisfare la naturale vocazione del “Marcello Arlotta”, classificato dal Piano Nazionale degli Aeroporti quale scalo di interesse nazionale destinato a svolgere funzioni di piattaforma logistica integrata a supporto della ricerca e dello sviluppo industriale. Nell’ambito della Rete aeroportuale pugliese, infatti, l’aeroporto di Taranto Grottaglie riveste una preminente funzione cargo-logistica, oltre ad essere esempio di respiro internazionale di integrazione tra trasporto aereo e industria aerospaziale. Il Polo logistico integrato di sviluppo del Cargo Aereo, i cui lavori partiranno a gennaio prossimo, sarà attrezzato anche con celle frigo e punterà allo sviluppo di servizi connessi alla “catena del freddo” e di voli full cargo (solo merci) con collegamenti anche diretti con le aree fonte/destinazione dei traffici cargo.
“La realizzazione del Polo logistico nell’aeroporto di Taranto Grottaglie – ha dichiarato il vice presidente di Aeroporti di Puglia, Antonio Maria Vasile – va incontro alle richieste di sviluppo del territorio avanzate nel corso di questi mesi dal mondo imprenditoriale, non solo pugliese. Il territorio ha bisogno di input e mai come in questo momento è opportuno mettere la nostra infrastruttura aeroportuale al servizio della comunità tarantina e pugliese. “L’aeroporto di Grottaglie ha vocazioni diverse e molte potenzialità – ha dichiarato Alessandro Delli Noci, Assessore alla sviluppo economico della Regione Puglia – . Per questa ragione la realizzazione del Polo logistico è una buona notizia perché risponde ad una delle vocazioni del “Marcello Arlotta”, ossia quella di essere piattaforma logistica integrata a supporto della ricerca e dello sviluppo industriale. Si tratta di un’iniziativa imprenditoriale di rilievo che guarda alla crescita dell’aerea in questione ma direi dell’intera Puglia. L’iniziativa imprenditoriale costituisce la concreta attuazione degli indirizzi di ENAC – Ente Nazionale per l’Aviazione Civile – e della Regione Puglia, con l’obiettivo della realizzazione di un polo logistico integrato tra Porto di Taranto ed Aeroporto di Taranto Grottaglie, nell’ambito della ZES Jonica (Zona Economica Speciale) e della Zona Franca Doganale, con le implicazioni in termini di intermodalità Porto/Aeroporto, nonché dell’Area Logistica Integrata del Sistema Pugliese – Lucano e meridionale. Ciò determinerà la possibilità di beneficiare delle agevolazioni economiche e procedurali previste per l’insediamento delle imprese, cogliendo le opportunità derivanti dal posizionamento strategico dell’area tarantina nell’ambito dei traffici che dall’Estremo Oriente devono raggiungere il Nord Europa. Quanto sopra anche in considerazione dello sviluppo della BRI (Belt & Road Initiative) e della cosiddetta “Via della Seta”: a regime, infatti, saranno attivati collegamenti diretti con Cina, Russia, Stati Uniti, oltre che collegamenti con hub cargo internazionali – Liegi, Dubai, Istanbul, Doha, Parigi Orly -.

As part of the Apulian airport network, in fact, the Taranto Grottaglie airport plays a preminent cargo-logistics function, as well as being an example of the international spirit of integration between air transport and the aerospace industry. The integrated logistics hub for the development of Air Cargo, whose works will start next January, will also be equipped with cold rooms and will aim at the development of services connected to the “cold chain” and full cargo flights (freight only) with connections also direct with the source / destination areas of cargo traffic.

The entrepreneurial initiative represents the effective implementation of ENAC – National Body for the Civil Aviation – and of Puglia Region guidelines, with the aim of creating an integrated logistic center between the Port of Taranto and Taranto Grottaglie Airport, within the ZES Jonica (Special Economic Zone) and the Customs Free Zone, with the implications in terms of intermodality Port / Airport, as well as the Integrated Logistics Area of the Apulian – Lucanian and southern system. This will determine the possibility of benefiting from the economic and procedural facilitations provided for the establishment of companies, seizing the opportunities deriving from the strategic positioning of the Taranto area in the context of the traffic that must reach Northern Europe from the Far East. The above also in consideration of the development of the BRI (Belt & Road Initiative) and of the so-called “Silk Road”: in fact, when fully operational, direct connections will be activated with China, Russia, United States, as well as connections with hubs international cargoes – Liège, Dubai, Istanbul, Doha, Paris Orly -.
